Living Well Street
Living Well Street (within the original Hall) is based in the scenic surroundings of Meltham. We are a small specialist residential facility accommodating for up to thirteen people. We are a mixed gender service for people over 18 years. Our aim is to meet individual needs of people who may experience behaviours that can become distressing or that may challenge.

About the home
These behavioural patterns may be associated with diagnosis of a dementia type illness. Living Well Street meets the individual needs of residents through a combination of a specifically designed environment.
We pride ourself with a skilled, competent and compassionate team who have not simply high levels of personal care skills but specialist knowledge around behavioural challenges and de-escalation techniques, behavioural therapy, and dementia together with an underpinning positive behavioural support framework.
Our in house clinical Psychologist, clinical lead & Therapy team, lead and support the homes to achieve the best outcome for each individual resident.
Living Well Street has strong links with the local community sharing resources which brings additional quality of care for the people we support. Our surrounding gardens offer opportunities to grow our own produce and encourage individuals to use their gardening skills on a daily basis.
The grounds also encourage health and well-being with many places to walk and spend time outside.
We have our own cinema and activities coordinator offering day trips and a full social calendar.
Hennessy prides itself by have our on- site therapy team . Our Service Managers develop meaningful activities on a person centred approach, along with a Positive Behaviouralist and a PROACT-SCIPr-UK Instructor
Service Manager
Laura Bigley
Laura has 18 years’ experience working within the Health and Social Care sector, supporting individuals with a wide range of complex needs. Throughout her career, she has progressed from Support and Care Worker to Team Leader, Deputy Manager and now Registered Manager at Living Well Street.
Laura has continued to develop her professional knowledge and skills throughout her career. She has successfully completed her Level 5 Diploma in Adult Care, a Positive Behavioural Analysis qualification and an Occupational Therapy Assistant course. She has also recently completed a Dementia Train the Trainer course with Kirklees, further strengthening her knowledge and expertise in supporting individuals living with dementia.
Laura is passionate about supporting individuals to maintain their independence, make their own choices and achieve positive outcomes. She is committed to providing person-centred care that promotes dignity, respect and wellbeing.
Laura is looking forward to continuing to develop her career with The Hennessy Partnership and is particularly passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience by delivering Dementia training across other care homes within Kirklees and Calderdale.
Her extensive experience, specialist knowledge and commitment to high-quality care make Laura a valued leader who is dedicated to making a positive difference to the lives of the individuals she supports.
Deputy Manager & Positive Behaviouralist
Emma Rice
Emma has over five years’ experience working within the Health and Social Care sector, beginning her career supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities. Throughout her career, Emma has continued to develop her knowledge, skills and experience, progressing from Support Worker to Team Leader and now to her current role as Deputy Manager.
Emma has successfully completed her Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards her Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care. She has also completed her Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) certificate, further developing her understanding of person-centred approaches and supporting individuals with complex needs.
Emma is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and is committed to supporting individuals to achieve their goals, maintain their independence and enjoy a positive quality of life.
Emma is looking forward to continuing her professional development with The Hennessy Partnership, building on her existing experience and further developing her leadership and management skills throughout her career.
Well-Being Champion
Wendy Gilbert
Wendy is committed to helping members of the staff team as the homes Well-Being Champion. This role is not to support with work related problems that still sits with the company Freedom to speak up Guardian. Wendy’s role is looking to support staff with issues/problems/concerns outside of the work place whether that be just listening, or guiding staff members to the relevant support that they may require.
- She will be impartial when supporting staff.
- She is comfortable with supporting staff with difficult problems.
- She is a good listener.

- Will remain and act in the strictest of confidentiality.
